Which alternator for an XE
Hi,
I am in need of a small alternator for my Vauxhall XE engine but don't particularly want to buy one which needs a different pulley. Anyone know
what small alternators work with an XE?

try one off a daihatsu charade or a kubota tractor. i fitted a small one off a kubota (nippon denso) on my xe and mounted it with an astra 1600 mount
bracket on the inlet side of the engine this is the closest to mine i could find

Fried a charade one mounted too high on the exhaust side, now fitted a smaller kubota (both nippon denso) one to the inlet side same as Martin
above.
Some piccies in my archive, well get a current one tomorrow night showing the mount and everything.
Ned.

Hi ned,
If you could post a picture I would be grateful. Is it just a standard 12V Kubota alternator? Or is there anything I need to look out for?
Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
apologies for the delay, sadly my camera is out of batteries but here is the latest I have of my alternator prior to making the tensioner and fitting
the belt (825mm v-belt)
