Kent sump mods

I have just shortened my 1600 Kent's sump by 33 mm.

Questions :-
1) How far should the pick-up pipe be from the bottom of the sump?
(calculation showed old configuration ran at 12mm gap to the bottom of the sump)
2) I have the opportunity to baffle the sump. Any photos of how other people did it. Is it worth the trouble in a Kent?
3) Should I refit the mesh filter?

1.10-12mm should be fine. You need some space to allow a constant supply of oil for the pump.
2.A baffle would help, but i have no pics.
3.Refit the mesh filter. It is there for a reason??
