Rally spec distributor
I have the opportunity to get a new distributor for my engine. The question is should I bother?
At the moment its fitted with a standard dizzy which will need to be modified to limit the total advance due to me needing more than standard at idle
because of the fast road cam.
Or should I invest in what called a 'rally' spec distributor, which will give me 12deg advance at 1000rpm and a max of 36deg at 3700rpm? I
might need to up the idle a bit to 14 deg, which will give me the apparent optimum of 38 deg all in mechanical advance.
I am guessing that the 'rally' spec dizzy will have a better advance curve than a modified standard one?

i spent my money at h+h ignition solutions
imo a much better product and its a standalone system which you will recieve set up ready to go with your current spec and you can send it back when
you change anything engine wise foc
they can also supply a rev limiting rotor arm

Megajolt looks like a hell of a lot of hassle to me. And it will probably end up costing considerably more than £100 as I dont have a laptop for a
start, and i dont have any of the other parts available either. At a breif look it seems the megajolt would be £150, plus all the sensors and coil
pack + leads. Then I need a laptop on top of that... And I would like the car to be running and on the road by next easter, which only gives me 2
months working time as I am away at uni...
Anyone else help with the dizzy? I have sent an email to H&H.
Cheers,
David

Thanks for the tip, H&H have been very helpful the last day answering my emails always within an hour. Their product looks excellent too, and they
seem to know exactly what they are talking about. They will end up with my money too...
