Stainless Steel Manifold

Hi,
might have a mate who can't fabricate a manifold for us. We have a 1.6l zetec with GSXR bike carbs.
Firstly, is it possible to make a manifold from steel with regards to the heat from the block. Also, if anyone has any technical drawings for him to work off, that would be great. Has anyone else used steel who have made them themselves???

Made it myself, with a bit of help from a Coded TIG welder. It is made of polished S/S, 1.5mm walled tube and 6mm plates.
