Zetec sumps

Do the 1800 and 2 litre silver top Zetecs 97 age have the same sumps?

The 1800 sump is a bit shorter, but if you can find a tig welder i have a spare chopped 2 litre sump (same depth as scholar and dunnels version) ready for welding.

Just need the plug/drain replaced and the side cut out to make the cvh starter fit easier. Rescued attachment building 006.jpg

The difference between Zetec sumps is the vehicle they came from. An Escort sump is about 20mm shallower than a Mondeo one. They also have the clearance for the exhaust at opposite ends.

Ah now I understand.

Yes it will fit

A tad pricey though

I paid £10 for an Escort sump from a scrappy and I'm sure that I can find a man with a TIG for less than £104.95
