WHAT TYPE OF ENGINE IS THIS?
Hi Guys,
I am selling this engine as a 2 litre Pinto (came with my rolling chassis, told it was a 2 litre Pinto, but I am using a 1700 XFlow)
When I look at my 1.8 litre pinto (which I got from my donor Sierra), it looks quite different.
Can anyone tell me what it is?
Cheers,
Mark (Sorry for the stoopid question)

Thats a Pinto mate.
Has your Sierra got a silver rocker cover, with the dizzy coming out of the top of the cam cover? That'll be a CVH......
Dont just build it.....make it!

Definate Pinto, could be either 1.8 or 2.0 with that colour cam box/timing cover/carb combination. only certain way of knowing is to strip & measure
bores, OR to make a note of engine No's and make a nuisance of your self at your friendly neibourhood Ford dealer/engine builder/policeman(dvla but
they aren't allowed to do that anymore).
You could use carb No's but that will only tell you about the carb.

It should say on the block what the capacity is (cast into it)

Late pinto's all used the common 2.0 block with the same block height for 1.6/1.8/2.0. the ONLY difference (even the cranks are the same) was in the
cylinderbore so the only way to tell is to strip & measure or to refer engine No's through dealer/manufacturer/dvla.
Enjoy

Thanks as always for your speedy replies.
It is as Stu16v describes - must be a CVH!
Jolly Green - Is that picture of you in your locost bucket seat. If so, have you got pedal extensions?
