36-1 trigger wheel

Hi all would a bike sprocket be any good as a trigger wheel?

Ive seen pics of bike sprockets used as trigger wheels, but think the sensor position would be quite critical due to the narrowness of the teeth.
I used a trigger wheel i removed from a Sierra and fitted it to a homemade alloy pulley for my crossflow.

Not sure,
The tips of the teeth are a much smaller area than on our proper trigger wheel.
Although if you ground the tips off that would be rectified, and Create the missing tooth of cause I don't see why not.

I'm presuming you've already got the bike sprocket, otherwise u'd be better off getting a proper trigger wheel off a 1.8 CVH

The 1.8 CVH Sierra Has the Trigger wheel on its crankshaft pulley, on the inside edge I think (up against the engine block)
Which can allegedly be prized/forced/pulled off the pulley.

Ours cost us a Fiver, probably cheeper than the sprocket?

Try looking for info on Megajolt Systems and peoples builds/installs for more info.

yopu can buy them new from ford for about £12. Better option than making one.

Do a search on here - the part number is on a thread somewhere.
