Its a case of having a look around the scrappies for a nice flush fitting fan,the thinner the better as sometimes room is limited between fan and rad.

I i bought a 10" fan from www.premierwiring.co.uk

It was about £44 delivered next day,the premier website isnt the best so its easier to phone. Rescued attachment MK Indy build pics 065.jpg

I used one of those from Lolocost - £14 - I think it originates off a honda, as thats what is stamped on it. Really good quality.

It cools my xflow down no problem when its standing in the garage, and fits a treat under the nose cone.

Cheers

Peter.

The only problem with those is that its another £15 postage from Lolocost, so the postage is more than the fan!
Still cheap though

I have one that looks very similar to Bob's - a year or two ago everyone was selling them at shows.

It works really well; you'll need some ingenuity to fit it, but they usually come with loads of different fixings, through-radiator "tie-wraps", and so on.

Don't forget to specify whether you want "suck" or "blow" when you order (in other words, front or back of rad)

Lots of peep's are going for 'blow' fans... is there any advantage to these?

We have the OEM Micra Fan with suck... but would we see better cooling with a blow?

makes absolutely no difference to cooling, but on a locost it's probably easier to find room in front of the rad. If yours fits behind then it can stay there!

Yep thats exactly why i fitted to the front,it makes it far easier to fit and makes fitting the rad easy beacause your not having to incorporate the fan behind as well.

The only issue i was worried about was would i loose any ram/flow of air in the nosecone with the fan in front,so far its been fine and i think it could well be better as you get a lot of rubbish flying in and it probably deflects.

The fan i used was suck or blow as the fan is reversible, its just a case of swapping the wires round to change direction of the motor.
