wundering do i use a pressure cap on the rad or expantion tank.
secondly what pipe goes were. it might seem a stupid question but im just looking at my luego manual and it doesnt make sence because there rad in

Mk2 Escort rad is designed to use a pressure cap. You don't say what engine you have but the top hose goes to the thermostat and the bottom hose
goes to the pump on my pinto engine.

yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

'radiator to expantion tank'
Are you using a sepertae expansion tank or just the standard escort equipment?

hi, thanks for the replies
we are using a 1600 pinto.
and a separate expantion tank which will sit on the back of the scuttle.
so where does the connections go from the tank.

A common set up i've come accros is to have the pipe from the bottom of the expansion tank connected to the bottom radiator hose. A T-peice
should do to connect the 2 hoses together.
One example of this is on range rover with VM engine.
On the RR there is a small pipe at the top of the expansion tank (not over flow) which is connected to the top of the radiator and the highest part of
the block.

well
what i did is
i searched for a rad whoes fits then i taked a look at how to mod it do fit the conections,
i took of the fan switch and placed there the outlet of it (soow it faced to the back)
the original side outlet you just weld it with a piece of copper)
from the cap i removed the spring etc.and The small pipe from the rad i also filled it up with some solder stuff...
then i conected the bottom of the bottle to the rad outlet with a T piece..
And the entrance of the bottle to the thermostat housing soow when housing is closed it uses small circuit and when open it uses rad, bottom of bottle
can then compensate growing of fluid etc..
on a car its much easier i think because it has his own small circuit..
