AJ30 water pump rotation
Hi after a change of plan we are now going to use the standard belt driven water pump on an AJ30 S type engine rather than the electric water pump we
planned to use. I didn't take any note which way the water pump rotated on the standard engine.
Any one know the direction please?
Thank you

If I remember correctly the direction of rotation is clockwise looking at front pulley, counter clockwise looking at the flywheel. But get
confirmation of that though as it's been years since I played with one.

what made you change your mind?
I've gone electric and it cleans up the front end
Used the same pump as all BMW 6cylinder cars for the last 10 years and stand alone controller.
I can't see how to post a photo though

Hi Magpies it was the customer for the project that changed his mind, he said he just wanted simple. I use a BMW pump on one of my own cars. Thank you
for the details you sent via email, the controller looks a good product. I will be investing in one of those.

Just for future reference...
On Ribbed belted engines, all ribbed pulleys turn the same direction as the crank, plain pulleys turn the other way.
Sometimes you may change this changing pulley surface from ribbed to plain or the other way around, you just have to ensure sufficient belt contact to
transfer needed energy to operate accessory...
