Zetec Engine Number Format
Does anyone know the official engine number format for the Zetec?
I have a code of: RDA NR*****
I sent this off to Ford and they came back with confirmation of the engine number, but stated as NR***** RDA
Block originally had no number on it as it was an exchange engine. However I have had issues with IVA already with the engine, so don't want it
to be stamped incorrectly and get turned away again!
Thanks

Its just the NA*******, i'm not too sure what the extra 3 characters at the start are, mine has it too, but they only care about the 2
characters and the numbers

the RDA part identifies the power level etc the engine is. I will stamp it as per Ford letter and argue it if need be!

On a blacktop the 3 digit engine code goes first, then a space followed by the engine number.
The silvertop has 2 machined flats, the engine number on the first & larger flat and the engine code on the second smaller one.
An early silvertop may have the code in a different location below the crankcase breather unit as below.

The early silvertop from an escort may also have it stamped on the rear of the head next to the thermostat housing.
