Did you find a way around the tensioner clearance in the end?

Yes I did David I found a C Max idler pulley thats quite small, Ford parts uk website do them for around 30 quid and I will convert the alternator bracket to an old school style tensioner.

Hows your engine swop going?

As for the manifold I am making my own so just wanted to clear the tps around the focus aux belt tensioner. Found a smaller idler pulley to give room to the tps so that the tb's can aline up to the inlet ports on the head.

Still engine building at the moment, just waiting for some cam new cam buckets to arrive, after valve lapping I need 4 new ones to get everything back in spec. Hopefully get the head back on this weekend then I can loosely get all the new timing gears.

Have you got any part numbers/photos of the st tensioner?

Here's a pic, you will see the runner on no1 is offset to miss the tps.

Yeah that's right but I want to avoid having to move or pull across no 1 tb for tps clearance, to keep the manifold runners all the same length and angle in my opinion.

Thanks for the pictures.

That could be what I am looking for. Raceline have a suitable pulley but its £95 plus VAT and delivery!

Which C Max idler pulley have you found? Do you have a part number of a picture of it?

I have to make a custom alternator mount anyway so old school tensioner is a piece of cake
