Duratec to type 9. ( why a st150 flywheel)
Hi all
Think that the title pretty much gives this one away
I'm in the planning stages of a duratec build. I Searched the forum for whitch clutch parts to use to join it with a type 9.Just wondering why
it has to be a st150 flywheel.
Can a STD flywheel not be fitted ? As a st150 engine is a duratec ?
How is the st150 flywheel different to a everyday 2.0 duratec flywheel ?
Cheers guys
Ryan

Single mass ie solid as apposed to a dual mass flywheel found on the others.

You can use an early Zetec flywheel also.
Duratec Engine is fitted, MS2 Extra V3 is assembled and tested, engine running, car now built. IVA passed 26/02/2016

Ah that's a useful bit of info too. Any ideas of the years that the zetechs where fitted with that type ?

That's a new one on me but the zetec E is the same for all of them. From the Silvertops to the Blacktops and these fit the st170, that's
badged as a Duratec but isn't ?

I think that flackmonky said on his build thread that the st150 fly wheel in only 1 of 2 kg heavier than the litend ones as well.

Here's the part number for the fly wheel, taken from Flaks write up, so you can look it up.

I have looked through my notes, following BW comment, its the clutch pressure plate and not flywheel that can come from early Zetec.
Although I am sure that fly must be fitted to different engines.
