MK Indy GSXR cooling + plumbing

I am trying to figure out how I should be plumbing up the cooling system on my GSXR engine and what type of header tank I need. I will be using a Polo radiator.

The large feeds from the water pump and thermostat go to the radiator but how does the header tank connect to the system? Where does the small pipe from the radiator go?

Also can someone recommend a header tank? I have seen some tanks with connections above the pressure cap, similar to the old GSXR radiator. Do I need this type of tank?

Cheers!

Hi
Don't know if this will be any use
as its for an R1 engine.
The small pipe outlet at the top of the polo rad fouled the nosecone
& was not required , so we cut it off flush & araldited a self tapper in the hole.
This works great for us.

Thanks for that. I am slightly confused in that your sketch shows water going to the "oil cool"?

I have positioned the polo rad so that the small pipe is clear of the nosecone. If I leave this small pipe where should it connect to the system?

Also is it recommended that I have a temperature gauge?

Hi
That's the oil cooler on an R1
Don't know if you have one on your engine ?
If you don't, simply leave it out.
As for the small pipe from the rad, why look for somewhere to put it if you
don't need it , blank it for now & if you find you need it later its always there.
Don't forget the sketch is for an R1, not your engine!
As for temp gauge just T off the top hose as per sketch
Good luck

Still struggling with this one. What sort of temp gauge do I need? Can anyone recommend a header tank (alloy ones are too expensive).

With regards to the plumbing, i think when the bike was together it was something like the photo below. Still not sure how it should be connected when in the car? I was thinking that I should install a T to the red pipe on the left (water pump side) for the header tank? What about the small black pipe next to the red on the right? This used to connect to the top of the bike rad so where should it connect when using a polo rad?

Thanks
