carb bike engine ignition control - timing
Was talking to a tuner today about setting up my zx9r BEC. He suggested to me that if I could sort out a way of altering the ignition timing he could
most likely get another 10 HP out of it. So my question is, does any body know the easiest way to do this ? I'm thinking meajolt but I really
don't know where to start.
Any help great fully accepted
Cheers Dan

All you need for a Megajolt is a 36:1 trigger wheel, Ford edis and coil pack. You can then map it however you like. Not sure how easy it is to fit a
trigger wheel to the ZX9 engine though [unless is has one already?].

For some, but not all, bike engines there were adjusted trigger wheel available a while back. Don't know what's available, but worth a
look as the manufacturers have to allow for a wide range of conditions, most of which you can ignore and adjust around.

Have a look under the pickup cover, on blades etc you could buy modified trigger wheels to add a little advance.
They are designed to run on 93ron fuel so a bit of advance and optimax will release power, personally I would not bother with megajolt just work out
how to advance by adjusting the trigger manually.

You could probably get a 36-1 trigger wheel made - I had one made for my R1 to run my Emerald ECU.

Thanks for the replays gents.
I have managed to find this http://www.dynatekuk.com/sport_bikes_dyna_2000.html seems like it would be ideal, but it ain't half
expensive for 10 HP or so.
