Silvertop Sump shortening - Advice

Hi, got my sump off (98 2.0 Zetec), have 8mm ali plate and someone to weld it foBr free.

So what depth does it need to be ?

Picture with ''cut here'' would be good.

Alternatively anyone got one going cheap ?

I shortened mine to the same level as the bottom of the bell housing ( 150 mm ) at the rear and - 10 mm at the front, tread plate used with the tread on the outside to help cooling.

No pic's but you can always pop round to look. My early sump had a small box shape at the rear which has been drilled and included in the sump for a bit of extra capacity.

Got one on my old silver-top no idea which one it is came on the car had no issues ... was going to sell it on the engine but make me an offer and ill think about selling it separating
