can anyone reccomend a turbo on ebay for a fireblade 893 engine ???

as the title really...ive been looking thru posts and feel confident i can put together a turbo system but am clueles to which turbo I should be looking for ??

would like to buy a cheap secondhand one first until I get the setup sorted so if anyone could find a suitable one on ebay and post the link on here and also explain why that choice has been made that would be great !!

If you are not after stupid power the 8psi is enough to get you at 200BHP, so try getting something like this of an large old volvo

Turbo part number
Turbo part number
, no need to take the head off at this level of boost.

You will need a lock up clutch kit, this lot will make you one for reasonable money lockup clutch, they have the pattern as made a one off for me.

You will also need a clutch housing spacer so talk to Andy on here about water jet cutting one, you will need to send your cover.

Don't forgot a 974 overbore with je pistons, flowtech head to get the most of the turbo.
Only about 4k new, or you can buy my second hand one!

MHI (Mitsubishi) td04-15g or td04-16t are both pretty good.
These are from volvo T5 or T5R respectively. But Saab also used them (Aero).

Smaller versions of the same turbo should be okay for 8psi (i.e. 12's and 13's), often found on Subaru Impreza.

You can look at the flow maps and plug in the details for your engine on the site below to get a feel for whether the turbo is too big or small. Definitely worth doing a bit of homework before the inevitable Buy-It-Now.
