Er - fill it up till it comes up to the bottom of the level plug hole....?
Seriously, either way you will probably have to buy 2 litres. I've just filled mine (well, it was knocking a bit on tickover since geting the
engine going, so I thought I'd better put some in)
Mine is a 1988 Aug, and took 1.25 litres up to the level hole.

Filled the type 9 up with EP80 this evening. Messy and awkward (not much room in the tunnel for manuvre). managed to get 1.15 litres of oil in the box
before it ran out of the hole.
Question is Haynes Sierra manual states it should have taken 1.25 litres. Is the 100ml worth worrying about (probably not ?).
Garage now smells like the cat has p*ssed everywhere...nice.

I modified the lid of my Type 9 box - put a filler hole with screw-in plug in one corner. There's no way I can get at the side of my box!

Sounds like a good idea but how will you know how much oil is in the box then ?
