They are 322bhp plus a lot of torque, they can upgraded another 50bhp quite easily.

Andy I called your office re waterjet cutting but you were out talking business I believe. I will finish the drawings over the weekend and talk to you Monday or when your available

One other thing what are you doing for the electrics, they are very complicated I believe they have 11 ecu's I'm sure that's what ZCars said anyway. I don't know that I never counted mine, I just drove it

Cheers
David

Another thing, I'm surprised you would need to have a bonnet bulge as the Jaguar is very low at the front

Cheers

I think that standard is about 320 but with a few simple mods to take away Jaguar's factory imposed restictions its quite easy to get 400BHP

Its is quite a bit bigger than the BMW straight six but its is a 4.0L as apposed to BMW's 2.5 that was in there.

Also masses more torque than an M3 unit but at a fraction of the cost

Hi David,

Sorry I missed your call, I will be in the office all day monday if it helps.

The bonnet sits up about 25mm when put on the car.

Ive also found a guy on the XJR6 forum who worked for Jaguar developing this engine and has developed a mod for the ECU that negates all the crap and lets it run without all the other ecu's.

If that doesnt work then It will be an aftermarket one following advice fro the guys at Z cars

Cheers

Andy

hmmmmm Has he given you an idea of cost yet ?

Is it a software or hardware solution. What I am asking is, is he charging you just to tell you how to bypass it or some bypass in the ecu or a software bypass ?

Not been given any costs yet, but from what i understand its a software solution but he needs the ecu sending to him for reworking

cheers

Andy

Hi andyw7de

I have a rotten xjr6 and recently purchased a clean 316 coupe. I'm thinking of a similar conversion.
I would be keen to know how you got on with clearance with the sump and steering rack?
How about engine mounts?
What gearbox are you planning to use?
I have the stock GM 4L80E lump but would prefer manual.
Do you have any info on tricking the ecu to run standalone?
Any thoughts much appreciated.
I'm contemplating this build at the moment and looking for a stock looking 316 look.

FYI I already have a stock E36 M3 this is my pride and joy that I've owned for 10 years. I'm looking to get similar power for the E36 XJR6!
