Starter Motor Position
Which of the Ford range has its starter mounted on the engine O/S?
T 9 g/boxes, and older Ford 4-speeds seem to have the starter on N/S (exhaust). But that's for RWD vehicles. So, are later FWD Fords using
starters on the inlet side of the engine? Some prod'n Zetec installations seem to have this set up.
Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!

The new Duratec Engines have the inlet on the near side and exhaust on the offside when configured RWD, the starter motor sits on the inlet side which
is the nearside. Just like the Pinto I believe.
Heres a pic

My bell housing has provision for starter motor on either side, not sure if it's an RS or aftermarket item?

Ford starter motor position is defined by the gearbox bellhousing not the engine block.
Find a left hand drive MT75 box and the starter will be on the off side when fitted to a RHD setup.

Presumably, if used for LHD installations, starter mounted on RHS of block/g-box is to avoid fouling steering column?
