Non-Productive Day...
Well, i got a pass to get in the garage at about 10:30, so i cleared the way, dragged the car out, lugged the transmission out of the workshop and got
the engine out of its parking space in the corner of the garage.
After i had levelled up the engine, i thought i would try and put the clutch on, mate the transmission and have it all sitting there ready for some
measurements.....
This is where i realise the release bearing is too small for the pressure plate. Not sure why i didnt think of this before, but its too small.
Ok i thought, never mind, ill do something else. So i cleared the back of the car to try and trial fit the engine on axle stands, so that i can see
what other changes i need to make. I already knew the fuel tank fouls the engine, so that needs making smaller, but then i spot the oil filter remote
hitting the chassis. Out comes the engine, and on goes a spare remote that i had thinking i was clever.
Offer the engine up again, set it onto the stands, level it up and YES, it fits perfectly and once it moves forward a bit following the fuel tank
modification, will be a perfect fit. Now, where did i put those throttle bodies....
I put the TB's on top, and it looks like i will lose my rear parcel shelf and need to build an additional firewall, but i suspected as much. I
reach for the exhausts, and then the manifolds.....
The RH Manifold fouls the new oil filter position! - D'oh. Custom headers here we come after all!!
Here is a picture of what it should look like if i ever get over these annoying little problems.
Sorry about the size of the photo.

Days like this are there to prepare you for days that go well....
You need these "issues" to figure out what really needs to be done
Annoying, but happens to the best of us!

Well I've just come in to work to catch up on my paperwork only to find out Windows server has crashed. Or rather the Server is fine but the
router's having a bad day so I can't connect to the server to get any work done.... So now I've got to try and get IT support out to
mend it before tommorow morning. And I won't get any work done

Remote oil filter kit? Got to be cheaper than new manifolds.

Probably, but i was going to go to tubular manifolds eventually anyway because of the additional power advantage (c.15hp)
though that is on a full system. Mine will only have the manifolds and mufflers with no centre section or downpipe!!
The remote that i have, also has a takeoff and return for an oil cooler which i think ill need.

Richard.

On my boa, assuming it is the same as your bob, i fitted the r/h manifold up side down, so it exits at the front.
I arc welded a new pipe to the manifold.
edit- There is a filer relocation fitted on the boa to avoid manifold issues.

I just tried the manifolds the other way round and back to front.
The left still interferes with the oil filter when i put it on the right, and it is possible to turn the RH manifold upside down, but i dont like that
idea, as i dont have a stick welder any more!
Also, the back of the RH Manifold is very narrow, so i think it may be a bit restrictive.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.
