Question about gators for sierra driveshafts

Hi all,

I set about this evening to dismantle both of the drive shafts that i took from a sierra xr4x4. They are of the lobro type and 3 of the 4 boots/ gators need replacing.

Anyway, it looks like the two lobro's are of different types, one on which the boot goes over the lip, the other where the boot goes inside. Has anyone seen this before and any idea how i go about replacing the inside one ?

Here's a quick picture showing the two (ive cut the majoriy of the boot off on the left as it was already split)

Cheers
Tris

The driveshafst are sealed and ultimately would need to be done professionall, however on the bay of e there is a kit available where you slide a gaitor over a cone I can validate the kit works does take some effort to stretch them over the joint. Will look for the link

You can get several different style of boot for the Lobro type CVs. Most have a metal flange with the rubber boot inside.
You can buy complete new CVs with boot, grease and new bolts for about £25 each.

I used the stretch boots from eBay and installed them using the top half of a plastic ribena bottle.

Dip the boots in hot water to soften for a few minutes and lubricate with washing up liquid. Really wasn't too bad.
