The last one I fitted was a Fiesta one, can't help you any more than that, you should get friendly with your local motor factors

The 1.6 CVH engine filter fits. Mid 80s to mid 90s

Do a decent search...
DONT USE A RENAULT 5!!!

at best minute...
Here's my post from last year:

I had a good look around for a decent filter for my Zetec. All the usual suspects were just that - suspect eg using a Renault 5 filter which is M20 on
a 3/4" ford oil filter thread - no thanks. I ended up using a short but fat filter from a Ford XR4x4 V6 / Cossie 2WD. Ford oil filter code EFL
298.
I found the MANN filter catalogue online to be very useful. You can supply the dimensions you want to use and it comes back with suggestions.

Hope this has helped...

Remote take-offs are Mocal products. You can buy them all over the place - Merlin Motorsport, Rally Design, to name but two.

XR4x4 one is the same thread as Zetec, and quite a lot shorter.
The older type is the same diameter, but ones I have bought recently are slightly larger.
Also note that the 1.8 Zetec has a shorter 'nose' on the oil pump to the 2.0, which might save you some valuable space.

I used Champion C104 on silvertop, blacktop and there's one on the ST170 in the car now.

I've been using a 5 filter [from Halfords] on mine [Blacktop] for a couple of years with no problems.

Same here with Renault 5 GTL or Turbo filter, i realise the thread issue but you dont have to tighten them till your fingers bleed.
3rd year with the silvertop zetec in and no issues.

Remember james (seabass) is correct re thread on the renault oil filter, IMO the best plan would be to add a UJ in the steering shaft to avoid the
filter. I've seen this done on a few cars with phase one zetecs to good effect with the normal zetec escort filter in place.
I found the remote filter take off measured the same size as the small filter,so i think the extra UJ would also cost less anyway.
Just something else on my list of to do's

I found the standard silvertop zetec filter fouled the steering shaft by about 10mm so visited to local motor factors, they found one with a shorter
length (Cooper Z1247). It fits perfect.
Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.
