Blanking plugs on Pinto block

L&G,
Low down at the rear offside of the Pinto block there are two blanking plugs. They are just under 18mm AF.

What are they for? I'm thinking oil cooler, but they're at the opposite corner from the pump.
If they aren't for a cooler, how do you plumb one in? I hope not one of those filter sandwich plate things with take-offs!

The big one or the top arrow is the water jacket drain plug

IIRC they're just there to blank off holes in the block although why not use core plugs I'm not sure - maybe coolant drain holes.

Oil coolers are typically done with a sandwich plate take between block and filter.
