engine angle?

I have 1660 crossflow block in plan built formula27 chassis.

this is as low as it will go due to starter motor bulge in gearbox housing getting in way of chassis rail; it is resting on 10 mm block as I mock up the engine moutns.

Engine is about 20 mm higher at front than rear.

Does that seem right?

As far as I know, the only other point of attachemnt to chassis is at the rear of the gearbox - by raising that I would be able to pivot the gearbox/engine assembly thus lower the front.

Anyone see any problems in doing that?

There are no issues with lowering the sump - (I have a chopped down one) Rescued attachment DSC04514.JPG

No issues, in fact I think you should pack the gearbox or lower the engine to get it level.
