URGENT - clutch arm orientation
just about to mock up engine moutns so want to move gearbox as close to footwell and have enoiugh space for the cltuch arm to work.
pretty sure I know which round it goes but it seems it was fitted back to front!!
this is how I reckon it should be:

easy way to remember is the cable goes past the engine, so as its shown in the pic is correct as the cable end sits in the channel and is pulled
forward
obviously also the bearing has to push the clutch in to disengage and it can only do that by sliding forwards against the spring plate

and how it was fitted (pretty sure that is how it was but doesn;t seem right); I will need shorter cable.

and another view. bearing isn't able to pivot in this position.
this is definitely wrong as the cable nipple will not sit in recess.
the arm was loose so it may have dropped out and I fitted it back to front but I don't think so.
means the cable will be too long but that is easier to fix than getting engine mounts in wrong place.
