Keep an eye out on ebay. The kliktronic (and similar) solenoids and controllers pop up every now and again when someone is breaking a bike, or buying
a bike that was modded for disabled rider.
I got mine including quickshift module for 150 notes, and made my own paddles. It's great, but happier at full-chat than at pootling speeds. I
kept the stick shift as backup plan, but also use it if I'm pootling.

Which would you consider the best?
The mechanical paddle shift seams to be more popular for some reason
