Zetec breathing
Slater - 31/8/08 at 06:24 PM

Can I connect the hose that comes off the top right of this crankcase breather seperator box below to my vent port on the cam cover?

Surely that would save me from having a catch tank. locost.

I put mine into the air filter backplate.
My cam cover breather just has a little filter on on it. Nothing has ever come out of either as far as I can tell.

I removed the internals from the spring loaded valve and plumbed it into a catch tank, I fitted a breather filter to the cam cover vent.I recently removed the catch tank and found about 1/2 a litre of water plus a small amount of oil in it.This was from an old worn out zetec .

I ran mine connected to the cam outlet into the airbox. Got a fair bit of water (condensation) so put a little filter on the T instead or running into the box.

Not sure how effective however as the ditch and tree stump beckoned soon after

I blanked the one on the block and the cam cover vents to a catch tank (ali bottle form the £ shop). Collects about 100ml of water every 1000miles, maybe a few drops of oil. Thats on an old well used zetec.
The engine does need to vent somewhere.
