Hi all
I've removed my cv boots to be replaced as they were all cracking up. At first I had some stretch boots to fit but they were the wrong size and
I now have normal boots to fit but my question is how to disassemble the cv joint to fit the boots?
The shafts are Sierra shafts for drum brakes, The Haynes book says to cut the outer casing and peel it off but my joints look different to this.
Does anyone know the correct way of removing these joints?
Photo's below, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks all
Mark.

I bought these ones complete with fitting cones:
Linky
You just cut them to the right size and slide over the cones - use loads of furnature polish on the cones to lubricate them and they slip on
quite easy.
If you need to to all four, you can buy a second pair without the cones from the same people for a lot less money.

Oh bummage!
are the sleeves a ford part only or can you get them from parts stores.
I asked for stretch boots but they said that because the boots are so small they don't make them as stretchy's.

Were they a good fit on the sierra shafts?
