Oooh nice
Ahh good, nice to see it at last and it looks quite a tidy example for the age. Definitely a cad job I think for working out the running gear at the back, any ideas what you’re going to use for the suspension? Interesting project and I’m sure it will be one wild ride once done.
it wasn't bad considering i got it off ebay for £100 when i was 19, which was 4 years ago. Oh dear doesn't time pass quick!
My plan with the suspension is to use the mondeo subframe and suspension in the back. In the back there are two mounting bolts for the orginal axle, i
plan to use these and make mounts from them to the subframe. The subframe will have to be narrowed to fit within the saab, i also need to make two
mounts for the back of the subframe and mounting points for the struts. But it should leave me with a IRS suspension that is compact and realtively
cheap. I am using mondeo suspension as i have it to hand already.

looks a good project and not to much work, least you will have a lot of room up front for the tank.
getting the suspension in and aligned will be the difficult bit. The rest should be ok, the only other issue is physically getting the engine in. Only
way i have thought of requires me to remove the back window!
(get engine in through doors then pick it up from inside through the back window.)

the strut tops will be in the same relative position as the saab has the room to do this as the engine will be mounted north-south not transverse like
in the donor. Custom driveshafts will be required, which is a downside to this setup.
I was planning to use really wide arches, but the amount of work needed to the body was quite alot and i think the arches would spoil the lines of the
saab.
