Evening all. Here's a tea time challenge for you.

Finally started stripping down my 1.6 sierra today (while dodging showers) and found my carb dosent match either of the ones in my Sierra Haynes manual. All I know is its got "Weber" writen in about 10 diferent places. Any ideas what type it is??

Its the economy carb that was used on the pinto emax engine

it all depends on your funds the carb will be ok to use unless you want a dgav weber carb

Maybe I need an newer version of the haynes manual! Is the DGAV a direct replacement?

If the engine and carb came together then it is probably best practice to go to SVA with what you have and upgrade at your leasure

Sounds like sensible advice, but where can I get an air filter to fit it. Dont think the standard airbox is going to fit somehow

The closest I can find to your pic is :-

Weber 30/34 DFTH (stamped into base flange - tag would read Weber 85 HF DA G 5 E 20)

or

Weber 28/30 DFTM (stamped into base flange - tag would read - Weber 89 SF CC 2549 UK )

but neither were fitted to 1600 engines as standard

Robin, those are the nearest ones I could find too. It does have a tag on it but is there anywhere to look up the number?
