Has everyone kept the fume vent (either by using the Pinto filler cap or by some other means)?

Just wondering if it'd be much of a problem for me to lose it!

Mine is an injection pinto that had a vent to the induction system beween the air mass flow meter and the throttle. I swapped the cap with one from my 1.8 Sierra that was lower but with no vent connection, just breathes through the cap. No problems that I'm aware of to date.

Hmmm, but you do need a vent of some kind? Even if it does just go to atmosphere instead of back into the system?

My cap is the vent

I've removed the oil filler neck from the front of my pinto rocker cover and have been searching around for suitable tubing to fit one on the rear end.
I,ve hunted around for bits of exhaust pipe to fit the filler cap but to no avail.
I also tried to find a larger size to sleeve the original neck into - but again, have drawn a blank.
So, I was wondering what others have used to make the filler neck?

I've just had the same search and found that 1 1/2 inch diameter exhaust ideal. I got it from the local motor factors in 1 metre length, more than enough but only 3 quid!

As luck would have it, I found a P100 downpipe at the back of the garage and sure enough, the original filler neck fits like a glove!
That's one problem out of the way - now on to the next!
