Hi chaps,

I've nearly finished fitting a zetec engine to my Super Six, however I'm getting stuck with the starter motor. The one off the pinto I had doesn't fit, and I heard that one off a DOHC sierra works, but can't find any on ebay.

Anyone got one - or a pic so I know what I'm looking for?

1.8 CVH fits with my blacktop sump [with a little grinding].

1.8CVH or 2.0 DOHC

1.8 cvh fits the blacktop after grinding the sump. 2.0 dohc does not fit the blacktop

It's a silver top engine.

Is grinding the sump the answer? Will I be able to grind the sump enough to use the pinto starter or am I still better off with a different one?

depends on the silvertop sump, my mondeo sump needed cutting and welding like this, I think escort sumps need less drastic action.

This is what needs to be done to a blacktop sump, takes the slim CVH starter, I bought a qx compenents LS1220 starter for this fits fine.
BTW this sump is for sale if anyone's interested.
