Hi all , anybody know of small header tanks that i can use(smaller than the zzr1100 one that is) from whatever ????? cheers gary
Contary to popular belief they do not need to be the highest point of the engine as long as the take off point is at the top, this is not a flow
through type, ie only 1 inlet at the bottom.
Look at an early range rover, SD1 rover etc.
The tube to the expansion tank needs to be small, 1/4" id, you just fill up, the system, make the expansion bottle large enough for around 1
pint, and half fill, stick the pressure cap on then fill the system. You can 'burp' the air out by squeezing the inlet tube.
Disco, nothing high and ugly in the engine bay.
Regards Mark
Top man never thought of that one so just need to find a suitable tank with cap and hey presto- ps anybody know if theres a reason for not using copper tube for the metal cooling pipes that run extreamly close to the headers( sombody said that the copper has some sort of reaction to the antifreeze/coolent)????????
Plenty of copper rads about so thats rubbish. You cannot however make exhausts from copper as this will produce poisonous fumes
