on top of the throttle body is a big black square ish inlet plenum which channels the air in from the airflow meter to the throttle body...

on a mk2 98 sivertop
about 30mm above height of the oil filler cap top
measured parallel to the cam cover (the engine slopes forward slightly)

my problem is that i want to use the standard mondeo manifold ( im using stock ECU ).
the throttle body is below the level of the cam cover, but it only gives 70mm height for a 90 deg bend - which im not likely to find unless i squish
it.
so i then had to plates made up and i brought some silicon hose, so i could move the throttle body to the back of the engine. this did not work as the
silicon hose was not strong enough and it collaspsed on anything over idle :-(
so im back to my other options...
one is this mondeo airbox, the other is to use a Griffin westfield plenum with a rear facing throttle body.
any other suggestions? i dont want to change to throttle bodies any megasquirt just yet.

What about that cooker hood extract ducting that runs along the top of the kitchen cupboards.
That often goes straight from a round inlet to a longer wider flatter square, so presumably keeping the same volume of pipe. Then you just need to
find a wat to attatch a filter at the other end.
Or maybe even 3" soil pipe, I think solvent weld is stronger stuff and more resisliant to nasty stuff.
If its any good just spray it black and lie if anybody asks wheere you got it from

im hoping the Griffin Westfield rear facing manifold will work. it uses the existing fuel rail, ISCV, throttle body etc, so should be ok, as long as
the cost is ok.
also, what ever i choose, it has to be fairly ridgid so it does not collapse under pressure - thats what happened with the silicon hoses i tried first.
The cooker stuff I was suggesting is solid... well hollow plastic pipe, not like the flexy hose stuff you use for Tumble driers etc.
I have also seen the induction kit on something made from Big copper fittings (72mm kinda size) to get it under the bonnet as they have quite tight
bends in them.
If your still looking I have a complete Mondeo 2.0l standard induction system from a donor. Its a Series 3 engine one, so no silly resonators.
