Bit odd this one.
I recently removed my 1.6 pinto and am replacing it with a 2.0.
Coming to fit the alternator I can't figure out where the adjustable arm fits.
The pictures I have of the 1.6 (see below)suggest it was fitted to the water pump mounting bolt between the heater outlet and bottom hose, but it has
M8 bolt already in the bracket whereas the water pump bolt is M10.
Water Pump
The new block also has the same M10 hole at this point (see left).
Thing is I've thrown the old pump away so I can't figure out where it fitted.
Has anybody got a picture or can tell me where it goes. Just doesn't make sense.
Hi on the inj head at the front /side there is 2 holes 8mm i think that is were i fitted my adjuster
Jacko
There are 2 holes on the side of the injection head, we made a block and used satndard adjuster see pic, not that clear but gives a good isea whats
going on.

here`s some pics of how my 2.0 Pinto alternator was fitted

and a view from the rear......
Ours is wayy wayy closer than that!
The bottom mount is one we made to clear the chassis etc.. But we've used the spare threaded hole in the block (tou can just see it in the last
pic) with a bolt and a lock nut on it.
You just undo the lock nut and wind the bolt into the engine to slacken it off and then wind it out to tension it and nip up the lock nut, simple as.
I just suppose its just wherever yours lines up.
Beware of getting the alternator fan too close the the chassis rail as when things lean over in corners a bit that have been known to catch.
it depends on your water pump - the one i had mounts on the water pump - there are 3 smaller half inch bolts and a bigger one on the left - goes into the block - all go thro the pump if you can follow that.. lol
Ah I see on Snippy's photo there is a lug on the water pump that my new one doesn't have so that's why I've nothing to fix to.
Will have to get my ideas head on.
Been a great help thanks guys
