Manual choke conversions for webers occaisionally appear on Ebay I have one for an Xr3 carb but I would not like to part with it.

I'm presuming you've got an automatic choke at present... whats wrong with using that?

If its the original Sierra alternator etc its fed from a post on the back of the alternator and its a bi-metalic strip that breaks contact and opens when its up to temp.

Why change back to manual if you've got an auto choke?

If you wait till the weeked I can send you some detailed pictures of a home made conversion on my pinto's dual choke webber, if that's any help. Below is a picture of it though a bit far away. Rescued attachment falcon.JPG

If you get stuck try someone like the Carburetter Exchange or Past Parts. IIRC some were made by Sandalloy?
