any opinions on how best to connect the circled areas? I must say there's no room from the radiator highlighted area!! Rescued attachment rad.JPG

Can you do it in copper pipe?

What size are the outlets?

alternativly if 32mm outlets, can you get a 28mm copper elbow joined with a short piece of hose then flexible pipe to connect the two. i recently brought some flexible coolant hose from CarBuilderSolutions which was a good price but may not be as flexible as more expensive silocon hose

I used 28mm copper pipe. The soldered connectors boost it up to 32 for the points where it joins hose. You can also get 28/16/28 T pieces to plumb in that heater and bypass hose. You might need to rethink your top hose. Sitting above the exhaust manifold it's going to get a bit warm!
