Engine exhaust - Help needed
minidoido - 5/8/07 at 03:01 PM

Hi!

Tried the exhaust on yesterday, and found out that it's to close to the servo.

What can I do? Any ideas?

I was thinking of building a new exhaust or at least a heat shield. But I don't think the heat shield would be enough.

Does anyone have a exhaust design for an Escort 1.3 GT engine?

Thank you.

Bin the servo - you don't need it and it adds weight

I have to agree - why use a servo on a car that is probably less than half of the weight?

The picture in your archive shows it near the fluid reservoir. I would change the pedal arrangement to move the master cylinder out of the way or make a manifold that goes over the top chassis rail. Left hand drive causes its own set of problems.

Why not just fit a remote reservior, and pipe it down to the MC. Ray

That's the fluid reservoir, not a servo. As above, just fit a remote reservoir to the master cylinder - problem solved.

Hi!

Thanks for the help!

I will try to put a remote reservoir. I have no idea how that one comes out, but I think you just have to pull it off.

About the exhaust, does anyone have a design or picture of a manifold that goes over the top chassis rail.
