Noise emissions

Hi

Any idea how I can quieten an exhaust system like this

Description
Description

It recorded a noise level of 99dB (at the SVA test yesterday) at 4100 rpm but I would like to do a track day where the limit is 100dB at 4500 rpm.

Obviously, I'm worried the extra rpms will increase the noise level over the limit.

Cheers
Gary

1) replace your silencer with a bigger one.
2) replace the long section of pipe in front of your silencer with another silencer

I did this. A 130mm long 6" diameter repackable silencer reduced my nose level from 105 dB(A) to 100 at 8800 RPM

3) Fit a dB killer into your tailpipe, then rejet your carbs to reflect the reduction in airflow at high engine speed. Accept the loss in power in your engine.

4) go to a "noisier" track
