Type 9 / Zetec bellhousing plate
edspurrier - 9/5/07 at 09:17 PM

Hi. Making a plate to go between Zetec and Type 9 gearbox - except engine isn;t here yet - and I'd like to have it made before the engine gets back.

Does anybody have an emailable template?

Thanks

You don't need one, they bolt straight together

.............or do you mean the thin steel sheet to keep crap out................

Best I can do is a pic of the plate off the back of my pinto which I modified a bit. Rescued attachment engplate.jpg

Thanks! - plate to keep stones and roadkill out is what I'm after, I've cut the outline from the bellhousing

Why do you need a plate? if its to move the gearbox away from the engine for some reason, just use the bellhousing as a pattern.

The zetec and type 9 bolt together no problem. Here's mine with the zetec plate that seals the gaps. Only needed the bit cutting out round the new starter. Rescued attachment Starter point.JPG

I didn't use a plate on my first seven. After 25k km never had a problem.

So I also didn't use one on my current car. Should I? Examples around on problems?
