type 9 input shaft movement ?
bob - 19/9/06 at 11:05 AM

After removing the pinto today i noticed a fair amount of play in the input shaft,i cant recall as much or any play when it went in nearly 4 years ago and wondered how much play is acceptable if any.

The movement is in out and sideways. Rescued attachment type 90590.JPG

They all have quite a bit as they are on a self aligning/floating bearing

Thanks david

I'm starting to cheer up a bit now.

They are not actually on a self aligning bearing at all, but still don't worry about a fair bit of play. The spigot bearing holds the shaft steady when the box is fitted.
