Looks a good build m8....hope you enjoy it! Oli.
Looking good Andy
I need to finish my porting job off when I get home. Need to sort out my valve guides mainly. Have you got any more pics of yours i can go on?
Cheers,
David
Afraid I haven't any without the valves fitted. I'll try and take one of an exhaust port though.
Just slapped a coat of paint on so I can't touch it until tomorrow though.
Cheers
what engine is that? and capacity? looks nice and simple oldschool tho! i like!
It's a 2L Pinto.
Took it for the first drive today. Went well apart from blowing 1/2L of oil all over the place through the breather.
I'm keeping it below 5K until it's run in but it still goes like poo off a spade. I reckon about 160-170BHP at the flywheel. Will have it
dyno'd when run in.

Whilst not a fan of the old boat anchor, this proves you can still make a silk purse out of a sows ear if you want, and they're still plentiful in scrappies and the Free Ads
Agreed. Not the most subtle of engines, but they're really torquey, simple to build, cheap to fix and actually pretty reliable - not much goes
wrong with them other than bore wear and rattly cams at mega mileages.
Also still a good choice for those of us who don't like the Zetec
