I'm looking for a universal airbox to suit bike carbs or twin webbers, that I can run a 76mm ID cold air feed into.
Demon "I'm going to bend you over and rob you blind" theives do a carbon version for approx £300…..
Has anyone seen an ABS or fibreglass version for a sensible price? I did plan to use an existing R1 box but it looks a bit too big for available
space, although may chop and reshape if required.
IIRC Triton has one in his photo archive,

Plays Kool do this one, if you go to the website www.plays-kool.co.uk and download the brochure, its on page
5.

Pipercross had them on their stand at Stoneleigh.
Do they flow as well as a std sausage type filter?
Best to call playskool first as i am sure Paul reduced trading at Playskool to go back to the building trade earlier this year.
Why not buy some carbon fibre sheet from e bay and make your own. 1 metre square cost me about 15 quid. I reckon 3metres and some fast glass resin
would do the trick. You can make it to your exact requrements then.

I went for the locost solution and made one out of thin ally sheet.
It looks a bit boxy but does the job well. I had two aims, one to reduce intake temperature and two to reduce intake noise (as I want to get below
98db for Donington)
It works on both counts.
Interestingly I fed the inlet hosing to the front grill to get forced induction at speed. It worked too well as at about 40 the engine started
struggling as the mixture was all wrong. Anyone with electronic injection using MAP could possibly utilise this, although it would need to cope with
positive presssure as well as negative. Food for thought!!
I will post some photos when I remember to take the camera to work.
I recall seeing a pic. (in CCC?) of a airbox made from a plant pot
- (the rectangular trough type ones).
I like both ideas, B&Q here I come!
Interesting alternative

Thanks sevensport!!!! Youve set me off now as well.
Ill probs just fit sausage type filter to my bike carbs but...........
what would stop you making an airbox and connecting it to a charge cooler.......
Ive just started a seperate topic rather than hijack.
