XE oil bypass

I hear a lot of stories that the Xe engines often suffer from cracked heads, especially when you have taken of the head.

My head is already more than 6 months of the engine. I have cleaned it and grinded the valves. How big is the change the head will be cracked? (It's a ks700 head)

As I heavent seen the engine running before, I also don't know if it was already cracked before I bought the engine, although i don't believe so, cause the cooling water was nice and clear.

Is it wise to just make a bypass as a precaution? It will cost me about 30 pound (for the banjo's and the oilpipe) to bypass the oil channel when I do it myself. I don't think it will be that hard, or am I wrong? It will look like exactly like in the picture.

Cheers, Ruud
