Zetec- throttle boddies
Krismc - 20/4/06 at 04:03 PM

if i bought this....

Mega Squirt ECU

this ...
Jenvay throttle boddies 50MM

and a manifold to suit, what else woulc i require for my blank stripped Black top zetec 2.0

muzchap - 20/4/06 at 04:08 PM

Personally, I'd get bike throttle bodies and save your money on Jenveys!

You'll need

* MegaSquirt Engine Loom!!!
* injectors + fuel rail - GSXR 750 is good
for 200hp - so ya can keep them if ya
want
* wideband O2 sensor (purchase or
borrow)
* laptop
* Fuel swirl pot
* High pressure pump

Just helped mate get Pinto injected on bike TB's and running with wideband... its ace.. My zetec should be up and running in 2 weeks ;-)

Cheers

Murray

i would get bike throttle bodies but was told i wouldnt pass SVA!!! or should i say would be very difficult to pass!

muzchap - 20/4/06 at 04:36 PM

Er - how would bike throttle bodies stop you passing the SVA

who told ya that big load of bollox???

They are more than suitable for the job, if connected properly.

Somebody's having you on mate...

Krismc - 20/4/06 at 04:41 PM

sorry it was just me getting confused, big-wasa has a set of bike carbs for sale i thought bike carbs/throttle boddies where all the same!?!

I would love to buy these from him but, if its a no no then i wont!

So where and exactally what do i require? and what are the best throttle boddies to use?!

[Edited on 20/4/06 by Krismc]

Krismc - 20/4/06 at 04:44 PM

and i can get a brand new set of jenveys with OMEX ECU for £1600!

what would the bike setup cost?!

JohnN - 20/4/06 at 04:49 PM

So you missed this on Ebay?

Bike tb alternative at half that price (also just missed - but make your own even cheaper) here

Suzuki gsxr 600 tb's generally are around the £75 mark, so if you can make your own manifold, you're quids in

Krismc - 20/4/06 at 04:57 PM

dam, and double dam!

muzchap - 20/4/06 at 04:57 PM

Hmm Kris

You're confusing the issue here ;-)

Bike Throttle Bodies with Injection

Bike Carbs

I believe are 2 separate items.

I listed what you'd need for the first:

* MegaSquirt Engine Loom + Megasquirt

£200ish

* TB's + injectors + fuel rail - GSXR 750 is good
for 200hp - so ya can keep them if ya
want

Around £100

* wideband O2 sensor (purchase or
borrow)

Loan is £20 ish (Bill Shurvinton)

* laptop

???
* Fuel swirl pot

£40 ebay guy makes em

* High pressure pump

£40 Ebay guy sells em

* Manifold

£200 ish

So budget for about £650 for the complete works

That's £1000 cheaper than Jenveys

Cheers,

Murray

sorry thought i may be confusing every body! ..forget what i said!!

To the above anyway..That sounds resonable, the only thing is i dont know which throttle boddies i need exactally...although you said the GSXR 750, are the 600's no good as only ones on ebay at the moment!

I could get a manifold made by a friend of mine, do i just need the boddies no extra linkages or anything!

Krismc - 20/4/06 at 05:07 PM

...what about these or are they too expensive.. @£140

muzchap - 20/4/06 at 05:07 PM

Go for the 750's

The standard injectors are good for 200hp!!!

A decent BlackTop should make 178-182 at the flywheel (in standard trim) with Bike Throttle Bodies.

So well within the range.

Ring around some breakers - Ebay tends to be a little extortionate at the moment

Krismc - 20/4/06 at 05:12 PM

spotted on ebay for £75 in good nick from a 2005 model, these ok??

Suzuki GSXR750

[img]http://i19.ebayimg.com/04/i/06/e2/38/f2_1_b.JPG[img]

does the year matter, and what should i ask the seller is with them, to make sure i dont need anything

stevebubs - 20/4/06 at 05:32 PM

If you're getting a custom manifold made up and not respacing them for a DCOE manifold, then year doesn't matter.

Some have 2 sets of butterflies - just remove the second stepper-driven set and fill the holes.

All covered before...

Yea ill go the dave some money option i recon, unless i sell my car this week, like promised- sumone may come and ill have a wedge that i may splash out and buy them after all,
