This is the Volkswagen Polo Rad. You can get a nice fan, surround and thermostat from a scrappy all in all a very neat installation. This ebay price is the cheapest I have seen for this rad.

Nissan Micra MkII - fits nice and snug is aluminium is fitted with it's own thermostatic SWITCH and is easily fixable using homemade brackets. It has an expansion bottle which can be dumped or used. Header tank from a Rover 214... use the bikes own thermostat for clocks feed. Can be had from most wreckers including fan and cowl for around £15

has anyone used this Rad ? Looks good size for the hole i currently have

mike smith1 - 3/1/06 at 07:24 PM

I had one of these rads of a 1.6 vtec civic, exactly the same, i decided against using it for a few of reasons,

1 The fan thermo switch cannot be mounted in the top of the radiator, so you would have to mount it in a tee piece in the top hose, as i thought this to be another area to leak and didn't think it would be as efficient as being in the top of the rad.

2 Also to get it to fit under the nose cone you had to mount the rad at a fairly sever angle.

3. The bottom hose would be quite difficult to fit due to the angle of the pipe on the bottom.

So i took the plunge and bought a MK radiator and fan, very easy to fit and the bottom hose goes on a treat on the 90 degree bend that is specially modified to suit the installation.

Cheers Mike
