"The Sierra 1.8 CVH sump and pickup pipe will bolt straight onto a Zetec"

That's got to be easier than a cut and shut ali one
Needs a little "fettling" around the oil pump area .....

worth knowing there's a steel alternative
Surrey Dave on here is doing that conversion. Not 100% straight forward but a cheaper bet than doing the orig sump.
Unless you're using a phase 3 with steel lower That has other complications, though

I asked this question on turbosport some time ago,it seems an ok fit on the early silver top and yes it would be easier to cut'n shut if
needed.
I'll worry about it when i get that far in the eng swap,i've got a couple of 2 litre sumps cut to 160mm plus an 1800 sump to test which is a
bit (30mm ish ) shorter than the two litre.
Anyone find any more info on the cvh sumps post it up if you can
Bob, I tried the escort 16v 1800 sump on my Tiger, gave me about 4 cm of ground clearance! I went for the scholar sump in the end. However if I'd
known about the modifying sierra 1800 CVH option, I would have probably done this instead.

I'm leaning towards the cvh sump, even though i have a couple of cut but not tigged 2 litre zetec sumps (copied from yours and zetec photos )
It would be an easier and cheaper job with the CVH for sure.
Worth the money I spent (well compared to the £400 raceline item), it's not leaked and I've had no oil surge even on track days. Still the cvh option still seems more resilient. Bash a steel sump and the mig fixes it cheaply. Bash an ali one and it could ruin it.
I got a Westfield one - secondhand very, very cheap!
I haven't fitted yet - so can take some photo's and measurements if anybody is interested in copying it?
Yes i'm using a CVH sump , its easy to fit, had to drill and tap more holes in the ally castings at each end of the crankcase.
And I can easily shorten it more than a Scholar etc to get more height clearance , and as someone just said if you bash it , its not the end of the
world.........
You know there will probably be a spare one floating about Bob, or you can source you're own and I'll shorten it for you.
