Fuel filler necks

Does anybody know or have any experience of the legal side of fuel filler necks. Ive read the manual and can't really see anything. Can a motor bike style filler cap on the top of the tank be used to save having to go out through the body side. I've got a bit a space problem and seems to me that the easiest way is to fill the tank directly from the top. any thoughts any body?.

I don't see a problem with that. I'm not sure what Mr SVA would say but I would imagine that as long as there is no risk of fuel overspill accumulating inside the bodywork he will probably think its ok too.

*edit* This thread might get moved into the SVA/Legal section

If running an engine with a cat i believe you need an unleaded restrictor in the neck.

If no cat then pipe and cap,i had locking boot over my cap so avoided the cap lock. Rescued attachment MK Indy build pics 162.jpg

Our's is on the top of the boot box, so:

Restrictor needs to be secure inside the filler neck.

Where'd you get that bob? I'm looking for an cap and a bit of aluminium tube to weld to the tank.
