Hi folks,
Has anyone fitted a renault 5 oil filter to there crossflow?
If so which model did you use? as the local motor factor suggested they wouldn't fit as the threads are a diffrent type.
Many thanks Dan.
whats wrong with the crossfow one ?
FRAPH966B £1.38 plus vat. £1.62!!

Renault filter fits the 2.0 XE engine and is shorter than the Vauxhall one.
I use a Renault 4 filter - it's about 1.5" shorter, and allows me to remove the filter without lifting the engine!
If you can wait until tonight, I can give you a FRAM part number and a Halfords one.

Thanks David, Like you I don't fancy jacking the engine everytime i change the bugger.
I can wait as the new oil pump hasn't arrived yet, stupidly i couldn't find the spring in the relief valve after it shot across the
workshop
ATB Dan.
Halfords do a real short one for a renault that will fit fords HOF 266
I think its a renault 4 up to 6/84 and also 14,15,16,17 and gourdini
go on the westfield board room and do a search. I know blatters has recently posted on this subject.
(assuming its working again!)
Cheers all, Bob I know you already told me that but was put out by my local socalled expert in the factors.
ATB Dan.

Here we go:
FRAM PH 2874, as used on Renault R4 (950cc), R4GTL, R5L, R6 (850cc)
As originally recommended to me by Scholars, a company that tuned engines for Formula Ford.
Annoyingly, I can't find the bit of Halford's packing that I'd carefully set aside - it's somewhere in the tip that is my
garage...

Many thanks for looking David, I'll be off to the motor factor tomorrow.
